Live In The Lobby at the Patchogue Theatre April 2—Andrea Wolper, Ken Filiano and Friends
Special Guest Bob Krummenacker
The Andrea Wolper Trio, featuring world-class bassist, Patchogue native Ken Filiano, brings a unique evening of jazz to Live in the Lobby. Described both as "entirely original" and "a singer with an uncanny emotional touch for the past 50 years of jazz," Wolper's growing popularity has her performing at concert halls, clubs, and festivals from California to Cape Town, Pennsylvania to Prague. A vibrant presence in her New York City home base, she has appeared at major venues including Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola (Jazz at Lincoln Center), JVC Jazz Festival, and Iridium. This is a rare hometown appearance for Filiano. Called "a creative virtuoso" and a "master of technique," Ken is one of the most in-demand double bassists working today, traveling the world, playing and recording with leading artists in jazz, improvisation, classical music, and tango. Joining Andrea and Ken will be their longtime colleague, guitarist Michael Howell, whose credits include playing with such jazz luminaries as Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakey, and Ella Fitzgerald. Opening the show, instrumental guitarist Bob Krummenacker brings his experimental ambient music to our stage.

The Folk Music Society of Huntington presents Lucy Kaplansky for its next First Saturday Concert series. I've seen her, she is AMAZING, and
